Space Shuttle Discovery Lift-Off

I was choked up and teary-eyed as I watched live on television the
space shuttle Discovery lift-off this morning. Awesome!

For official NASA news coverage and Discovery mission go to:

I watched the lift-off of the space shuttle Challenger in 1986 and saw
the subsequent tragedy and so this morning I was furiously hoping for
a picture perfect lift-off -- and it was!
[Hard to believe that was almost 20 years ago!]

For Challenger memories go to: http://www.fas.org/spp/51L.html.

Just one of the many moments I am proud to be a citizen of this great adopted country of mine!

And oh, how about that American Lance Armstrong winning the Tour de France SEVEN times...and the US Men's Soccer Team winning the CONCACAF Gold Cup? Hard to believe the US team is now ranked ahead of England, Germany, Italy, Spain and France. And the USA is supposed to be soccer-challenged. ;-)

Go U-S-A!
