NASA: Deep Impact Project

Just watched Deep Impact Project by NASA on satellite TV... way cool, could you imagine sending a probe in space to intercept a comet... how cool is that? can you tell I like science fiction? Go to JPL/NASA website to learn more about Deep Impact http://deepimpact.jpl.nasa.gov/home/index.html

BUT... much as I think this to be way cool, there is this "healthy skepticism" in me that asks, "How much did this cost?", "What value is being added to humankind?", "Is it worth it, considering all the poverty in the world?", "Could we have fed Africa for a year with the moolah spent on this?", "Are we simply funding the curiosity of the intellectual few?"... and so on and on...

As you can see, no blind obedience here. Hats off to the brainiacs who made this happened, and a big SALUTE to the great U-S-of-A... I am a proud American!

Now let's show the world the VALUE of this... heck let's not even think of the world, let's just show people like me the value of this...
